Summary
Word Finder with Lex AI has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking. We do not know who you are. Most of what the app stores never leaves your device.
Three things do leave your device, and they are described in full below: an anonymous ID attached to leaderboard scores, the messages you type to Lex, and — only if you choose to use voice input — your speech.
Who we are
Word Finder with Lex AI is published on the App Store by Rajeev Naik. The online services it connects to — including the leaderboards, the daily puzzles and Lex — are operated by xSoft Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR, xSoft Ltd is the data controller for the information described on this page.

What we collect
An anonymous device ID
The first time you open the app it generates a random identifier (for example f47ac10b-58cc-4372-a567-0e02b2c3d479) and stores it on your device. It is not derived from your device, your Apple ID, your name, your email, or any hardware identifier, and it cannot be traced back to you.
This ID is sent to our servers with leaderboard scores so we can show your ranking and avoid counting the same player twice. Deleting the app deletes the ID; reinstalling generates a new one, which means your previous scores can no longer be linked to you.
Game scores
When you finish a game you may appear on a public leaderboard. We store the game type, your score, the number of words played, and the anonymous ID above. Scores are shown publicly under the label "Anonymous".
Your messages to Lex
Lex is an AI word-game coach. What you type in the Lex chat is sent to our servers so a reply can be generated. Replies are produced by Cloudflare Workers AI running open-weight language models; the text is processed to answer you and is not used to train those models, and is not sold or shared with advertisers.
Please do not type personal or sensitive information into the chat. Lex only needs to know about words and word-game strategy.
Voice input (optional)
If you use the microphone button in Lex, the app records audio only while you hold or activate it, and converts it to text using Apple's speech recognition. Depending on your device and language, Apple may process that audio on its own servers rather than on your device — this is Apple's system service, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not store your recordings; we receive only the resulting text, which is then treated exactly like a typed message.
Voice input is entirely optional. iOS will ask your permission before the microphone or speech recognition is used the first time, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings, without losing any other feature.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email address, phone number or postal address
- Your contacts, photos, calendar or health data
- Your location
- Any advertising identifier — we do not serve ads
- Any cross-app or cross-site tracking. The app does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework because it does not track you.
There are no third-party analytics, attribution or advertising SDKs in this app.
What stays on your device
The following are stored locally and are never transmitted:
- Your game history and personal bests
- Words you have saved to WordBench
- The day's cached puzzle data, so the app works briefly without a connection
- Your settings and preferences
These are removed when you delete the app.
Children
The app is a word game suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect information from children, and there is nothing in it that identifies any user by age. Because Lex is an AI assistant that generates its replies, we recommend supervision for younger children, as we cannot guarantee every reply. We have made every effort to keep the AI focused on word games and related topics as guardrails, but parental discretion is advised.
How long we keep things
Leaderboard entries are kept so historical rankings remain meaningful. Because they are attached only to an anonymous ID, they are not personal data once the app is deleted and that ID is gone.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may ask us for a copy of any data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Because we hold no information that identifies you, we will normally need the anonymous ID from your device to find anything at all — and if you have deleted the app, that ID no longer exists and we cannot connect any record to you.

Changes
If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
